A student or parent can expect to contact an online teacher, mentor or administrator during normal office hours ( 8:00-4:00 PST) either by phone, through e-mail or (for enrolled students) on the messaging systems for Compass Learning and/or Aventa .  The expected turn around time for students and parents is 24 to 48 hours.

Some Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: What equipment or software do I need to run the courses?

A: In order to access our programs students need a computer and internet access. While high speed internet access is not required, it works best.

Q: What are the computer hardware system requirements needed to access the Compass Learning Odyssey online software (for grades K-8)?

A: See the Word document listing system requirements here.

Q: What are the computer hardware system requirements needed to access the Aventa online software (for grades 9-12)?

A: See the PDF listing system requirements here.

Q: Do I need a special browser?

A: Internet Explorer 7.0 and/or Mozilla Firefox browsers work best with the Aventa courses, any browser will work with Compass Learning.

Q: Sometimes I complete the work and try to save it on the Blackboard but it doesn't save. Why?

A: Students who have Microsoft Word 2007 should save their work in Rich Text Format. Please use "Save As". When the Save As window pops up, either click the drop down window that says "Word Document" and change it to "Rich Text Format" or click the box that says "Maintain compatibility with Word 97-2003"
